Measurement examples

Even low-dielectric, low-loss liquids can be accurately measured in the millimeter wave band

Overview

Measurement of liquids has been limited to relatively high-loss liquids using the free space method. However, with EM Lab's know-how, it is possible to measure low-loss liquids! With EM Lab's resonators (Cavity Resonator, Split Cylinder Resonator, and Fabry-Perot Resonator), we can now measure ultra low-loss liquids on the order of 10-4. By using the free space method for high-loss liquids and the resonator method for low-loss liquids, the dielectric constants of a wide range of liquids can be measured.
